Youth soccer clubs in Colorado
Colorado soccer lives on the Front Range.
Club soccer in Colorado
Drive the I-25 corridor from Fort Collins down through Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs and you'll pass most of the state's serious clubs, which is one reason travel inside Colorado is easier than in many Western states. The Western Slope is a different story. Grand Junction sits roughly four hours from Denver by road, so its club has built a full local pathway instead of expecting families to commute east.
The Colorado Soccer Association is the state body, running Colorado Select and a referee program, and most competitive clubs add national league membership on top. ECNL is well represented. Real Colorado and Colorado Rush field ECNL teams, Colorado Storm (the former Colorado Rapids Youth) runs ECNL and ECNL Regional League across several regional sites, and ALBION SC Colorado moved up to ECNL Boys for 2024-25 after its rebrand from Boulder County United.
MLS NEXT is also here, with clubs like Real Colorado, ALBION and Grand Junction listed on the 2025-26 Academy Division roster. Colorado Rush also lists Elite Academy League and Development Player League play, which adds regional travel for older teams.
The big names are not the only choice. Arsenal Colorado in Fort Collins plays in the ECNL Regional League and also runs recreational soccer, and community clubs around Denver send players to college every year without the travel bill.
Altitude and weather matter too. Fall and spring seasons can lose a weekend to snow, so clubs lean heavily on indoor facilities and futsal in the winter. If your child is new to competitive soccer, a club with a recreational base and a clear step up into competitive teams makes the first transition easier. The clubs listed here all publish their programs on their own sites, so you can compare them directly.
Popular clubs in Colorado
These are the clubs Colorado families ask about most. League badges show what we could confirm for the 2025-26 season, so check each club's own site for current teams, tryout dates and fees. For 2026-27, the NPL and the US Youth Soccer National League combined into the National 1 League, which teams enter one at a time, so ask a club which of its teams play in N1.
Colorado Storm
Long known as Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club, this club took the Colorado Storm name after its formal tie to the Rapids ended with the 2025-26 season. It runs programs from recreational through elite, with regional sites in Castle Rock, Central, North, South and Fort Collins. Its elite level includes ECNL for boys and girls, and the regional sites carry ECNL Regional League teams for ages 13 to 19. It also has an Elite Performance Center at Regis, a winter futsal league and a women's pre-professional team, so there are options at nearly every stage.
Real Colorado
Real Colorado started in 1986 as the Douglas County Soccer Association and now operates out of Centennial in the south metro and Frederick in the north. It fields ECNL teams for both boys and girls, a boys academy platform listed with MLS NEXT, and a USL pre-professional route. Younger ages move through junior academy, competitive and recreational programs. The club also hosts the Real Colorado Cup and a spring classic, which are among the better-known tournaments in the Denver area.
Colorado Rush
Colorado Rush is a network of seven clubs along the Front Range, reaching from Greeley in the north to Pueblo in the south, with its office in Denver. The platform list includes ECNL, ECNL Regional League, the Development Player League, Elite Academy League, NPL and National 1. Younger players can start in rec as early as ages 1 to 6 at some sites, then move into the youth, junior and senior academy tiers. Colorado Springs, Aurora and Evergreen each have their own locations.
ALBION SC Colorado
ALBION SC Colorado is the former Boulder County United, rebranded under the national ALBION banner. It reports around 1,600 competitive players and says it has been developing Colorado players for more than 35 years. The boys program earned promotion from the ECNL Regional League into ECNL Boys for the 2024-25 season. ALBION also appears separately for Boulder County and Denver on the MLS NEXT Academy Division member list for 2025-26.
Arsenal Colorado
Arsenal Colorado is Fort Collins' main soccer club, playing out of the Fort Collins Soccer Complex and city fields. Its site lists recreational soccer, a Player Development League for ages 9 and 10, competitive teams, Pre-ECNL and the ECNL Regional League. It also runs adult leagues for men, women and co-ed teams, and it keeps a link with the Colorado State University women's program. That makes it a rare one-stop club for northern Colorado families.
Grand Junction Soccer Club (Fire FC)
Grand Junction Soccer Club, branded as Fire FC, is the Western Slope's main competitive option. Its boys teams play in MLS NEXT, including both the Academy Division and MLS NEXT 2 for ages 13 to 19, and the club also plays in Colorado Soccer Association leagues. A girls team in the Girls Academy Aspire league is planned to begin in 2026-27. For families outside the Front Range it is the clearest path to national-level competition without relocating.

Pin down your driving map first. Real Colorado has a north site in Frederick and a south site in Centennial, Colorado Storm runs Castle Rock, South, Central, North and Fort Collins, and Colorado Rush spreads from Greeley to Pueblo. Pick the site that fits your commute, because a Tuesday practice that's an hour away gets old quickly.
Then match the league to your goals. ECNL and MLS NEXT teams travel far more than state-league teams, and Mountain region trips can mean airfare for older ages. The ECNL Regional League sits a step below and keeps costs and travel more manageable.
Ask about winter too. Colorado clubs usually shift indoors, and some run their own futsal leagues. Finally, check each club's tryout page directly. Dates and age groups vary, and the clubs here publish their own schedules rather than following one statewide window.
Before you sign anything, read up on what club soccer costs and how tryouts and offers usually work. Most Colorado families find the second season easier than the first.
