Club soccer in Indiana

Hamilton County, the fast-growing band north of the city, holds the three clubs most parents will hear about first: Indy Eleven Academy in Westfield, Hoosier Premier in Noblesville and Indy Premier in Fishers. Between them they cover MLS NEXT for boys, Girls Academy and the ECNL Regional League for girls, and a deep bench of travel and recreational teams. FC Pride in Lawrence is the east side ECNL club, and Indiana Elite in Crown Point carries ECNL to Northwest Indiana. Union FC Indy and Michiana Echo add options in the northern suburbs and South Bend.

The pro connection is Indy Eleven, the USL Championship club. Its academy used to be known as Indiana Fire Academy, and the old web address now sends visitors to the Indy Eleven Academy site. The club also has an affiliate called Indy Eleven Spirit in Evansville, which is useful for families in the southwest corner of the state who would otherwise face a three hour drive to the suburbs of Indianapolis.

Hoosier Premier and Indy Premier share roots. Indy Premier was formed in 2014 when three area clubs merged, and Hoosier Premier lists Indy Premier and Hoosier FC as its two founding member clubs. Hoosier Premier plays boys teams in MLS NEXT, with squads from the 2008 and 2009 birth years down to 2014. Indy Premier keeps a wide recreational base underneath, including a SuperKicks program for kids as young as 18 months and a TOPSoccer program for players with disabilities.

The state association is the Indiana Soccer Association, which sanctions leagues and runs the state cup. Indiana sits in the middle of the Midwest travel circuit, so elite teams regularly play clubs from Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Kentucky. Home matches at the top level are often a short drive, but the weekend trips can add up.

Our list for Indiana is shorter than for larger states because we only include clubs whose programs we could confirm on official league lists and club websites for the 2025-26 season. If a club you know is missing, it likely means we couldn't verify it yet, not that it isn't good.

Picking a team

Choosing a club in Indiana

Most of Indiana's elite options sit north of Indianapolis, so your first question is whether you live within a reasonable drive of Westfield, Noblesville or Fishers. If you do, you have a real choice between MLS NEXT for boys, Girls Academy, and the ECNL Regional League. If you live in the south, ask whether the Evansville affiliate of Indy Eleven covers your age group. Winters are cold, so ask each club about indoor training space and whether the winter cost is built into the fee.

Spring tryouts are common, but several clubs run late summer or fall evaluations as well. For younger players, a recreational program with a clear step up to travel soccer is usually a better start than jumping straight into an academy at U9 or U10.

Before you sign anything, read up on what club soccer costs and how tryouts and offers usually work. Most Indiana families find the second season easier than the first.

Questions

Indiana club soccer FAQ

What happened to Indiana Fire Academy?

It is now Indy Eleven Academy. The pro club took over the program, and the old Indiana Fire Academy web address redirects to the Indy Eleven Academy site. The club is based in Westfield and also runs an affiliate called Indy Eleven Spirit in Evansville.

Where can Indiana boys play MLS NEXT?

Hoosier Premier in Noblesville and Indy Eleven's Pro Academy are on the 2025-26 MLS NEXT member list. Indy Premier also lists a boys MLS NEXT Academy Division program. All of these are in the Indianapolis suburbs, so most families outside Hamilton County should plan for a drive.

Does Indiana have Girls Academy teams?

Yes. Indy Premier in Fishers lists a Girls Academy program. Indy Eleven Academy takes a different route, with girls teams in the ECNL and the ECNL Regional League. Both clubs are north of Indianapolis, so check commuting time before you commit.
