Youth soccer clubs in Hawaii
Hawaii is a small youth soccer market with a big geographic problem.
Club soccer in Hawaii
The competitive scene is concentrated on Oahu, where most of the state's population lives, and everything else is an island away. That shapes how clubs are built, how often teams play each other, and how much a family ends up spending on airfare.
The Hawaii Youth Soccer Association is the state's governing body and operates on behalf of US Youth Soccer. Its clubs page lists 26 clubs across Oahu, Maui, the Big Island and Kauai. On Oahu the main competition is the Oahu League, which was formed in 1996 and is tied to US Youth Soccer and US Soccer. The other islands run their own leagues, including HYSA Big Island and the Kauai Soccer Association, and the state also hosts a Hawaii State Cup each year.
National leagues are thin, but they exist. Hawaii Rush lists ECNL, DPL and Girls Academy teams in its elite pathway, and Leahi Soccer Club announced in 2022 that it had joined the Girls Academy League. There's no MLS NEXT club to point to, and no MLS, NWSL or USL pro team in the state.
Results say the talent is real. Leahi's 2012 girls Premier Green team is credited on the HYSA site with winning the 2025 US Youth Soccer President's Cup national championship, and Hawaii Rush reports a US Club national title for its 13U boys.
Most families will start with one of four or five names. The Honolulu Bulls are the oldest active club in the state and date to 1975. Hawaii Rush is the big one, with training sites from West Oahu to Mililani and the North Shore. Leahi runs Premier, Windward and West levels. Over on the Big Island, Kona Crush has become City SC Hawaii. Each club below links to its own site for current teams and tryouts.
Popular clubs in Hawaii
These are the clubs Hawaii families ask about most. League badges show what we could confirm for the 2025-26 season, so check each club's own site for current teams, tryout dates and fees.
Hawaii Rush Soccer Club
Hawaii Rush is the largest competitive club on Oahu, part of the national Rush network, with a pathway that starts at a Keiki Academy for five year olds and runs up through an Elite level. That top tier lists ECNL, DPL and Girls Academy teams. Training sites include Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex, Mililani parks and North Shore schools. Sister clubs operate as Big Island Rush and Kauai Rush, and the club also runs adult teams.
Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club
The Bulls call themselves the oldest active soccer club in Hawaii, and the nonprofit dates to 1975. Its site lists a Keiki Bulls program for young players and age-group tryouts held June 1 to 6, 2026, with player assessments through the summer. In May 2026 the club became a strategic partner in City SC's National Affiliate Network. It also runs training exchanges and games with local college programs.
Leahi Soccer Club
Leahi markets itself as celebrating 40 years and fields boys and girls teams at Premier, Windward and West levels. It announced in 2022 that it had joined the Girls Academy League, and it travels to events such as the Surf Cup, Carlsbad Cup and the US Club Soccer West Regional. Its 2012 girls Premier Green team is credited on the HYSA site with a 2025 US Youth Soccer national championship.
City SC Hawaii (Kona Crush Soccer Academy)
Kona Crush Soccer Academy announced in June 2024 that it was rebranding as City SC Hawaii after partnering with City SC, and its website still carries the Kona Crush name. It's based in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island and ran 2024-25 tryouts at the Old Airport Soccer Field. The site shows HYSA and Big Island HYSA logos. For Kona families it's the most visible competitive option.
FC Hawaii
FC Hawaii is on the HYSA clubs list as an Oahu club, and local news has covered its teams over the years. Its FC Hawaii 09 girls were honored at Honolulu Hale after winning the U14 US Youth Soccer national championship, which was reported as the first national title for a girls team from the state. Check the club's site for current teams, since public program details were limited when we checked.
From Hawaii clubs to college soccer
For a lot of Hawaii families, club soccer is also the road to playing in college. These pages cover the next step, from ID camps close to home to emailing college coaches.

Meet Recruitly ›Choosing a club in Hawaii
Ask first about travel, because that's where Hawaii differs most from the mainland. Teams that chase national events, showcases in California or regional championships fly out of state, and for a travel season that can easily outweigh the club fees. Get an honest annual number before you commit.
Next, match the club to your side of the island. Oahu traffic is real, and a Tuesday practice in Aiea or Mililani is a long haul from Kailua. Hawaii Rush, for instance, lists training and tryout sites in West Oahu, Mililani, the North Shore and Kapiolani Park, so ask where your birth year actually trains.
Then look at tryout timing. The Honolulu Bulls held age-group tryouts in early June 2026, and Leahi and Hawaii Rush also post tryouts on their sites for the next season. Because Hawaii has no real winter, the calendar is shaped by school and state cup dates, not weather, so tryouts tend to come earlier than many families expect.
Before you sign anything, read up on what club soccer costs and how tryouts and offers usually work. Most Hawaii families find the second season easier than the first.
